Ways Moms Can Unwind and Relieve Stress

Being a mom truly is the best feeling in the world, but there really is no point in denying that motherhood can be stressful at times.

Sometimes, we – moms – get so caught up in mom duties that we forget that we need to take care of ourselves, too. But, while most of us believe that our kids come first, we must not forget that we also have to answer to our own personal needs.

Moms need to unwind and relieve stress every once in a while, and there are so many different ways we can do that:

By engaging in a hobby. – Hobbies or other recreational activities can help relieve stress. Choose a hobby that will help you relax and release tension, such as painting, gardening, or knitting.

By working out. – Working out can help you get rid of unwanted body fat and can help you get rid of stress as well. Exercising helps in releasing endorphins into your system. Endorphins are known to increase one’s sense of well being.

By treating your body to a well-deserved relaxation. – Getting a massage, a spa treatment, or even a long, warm bath can instantly help you relieve stress.

By outsourcing some of your workload, hire a cleaner, a cook or someone to come in a do your laundry from time to time. This can be a huge stress reliever and help lessen the workload. Sometimes decluttering the house can be a huge stress reliever as well. Calling in a junk removal company to help take some clutter out of your life can be a huge relief.

By meditating. – Meditation is regarded as one of the most effective ways a person can get rid of stress and retain calmness.

By stopping comparing yourself to other moms. – One of the things that add stress and pressure to our daily lives is comparing ourselves to other moms: moms that seem to get everything so perfectly, cooking cookbook worthy organic meals for their children, moms that still have time to workout and maintain their perfect and sexy physique, etc. Stop, just stop. Don’t compare yourself to others – you’re doing your best to be a good mom and that is more than enough to make you beautiful.

Exercises for Moms

Effective and Easy Home Exercises for Moms

There are so many tasks moms have to do every single day – from waking up early to prepare what your family needs to put the kids to bed at night. Most times, us moms don’t really have the time to go to the gym and do some workouts to stay fit.

Still, working out is important, not just because you want to maintain a stronger, better physique – working out can also help you stay healthy. And as a mom, you have to take care of your health so you can take care of your family.

If you can’t find the time to go all the way to the gym, you can try some effective and easy home exercises so you don’t have to go anywhere else just to be fit.

Jumping or running in place. Some moms don’t have spare time to run outside or don’t have a treadmill to run indoors, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t do any exercise comparable to running. You can run or jump in the same spot for just five minutes a day. To make it even more effective, bring your knee up high, up to your chest with every step.

Running up and down the stairs. It may sound silly, but the gravitational pull will help you burn calories even faster. Stair running is excellent at toning your muscles.

Doing squats. Squats are great for strengthening both your upper and lower body. What makes doing squats even better is that you don’t need any equipment to be able to do this exercise. Simply stand straight, put your legs apart, about as wide as your hips. Plant your feet firmly to the ground and put both your arms forward until they are perpendicular to your torso. Then lower your body slowly by bending your knees, go as low as you can go and then slowly stand up again. Repeat for around 10 to 15 times.

Parenting

Parenting Hacks Every Mom Should Know

We all know that we, moms, love our kids to the moon and back, but let’s all be honest here – parenting is not easy.

That is why we, as one parent to another, should always share useful tips on how to make parenting much easier.

Luckily, parents from all parts of the world have shared their useful parenting hacks to help every parent to keep their sanity while making sure they make their children have a happy childhood.

Parenting hacks that might come in handy:

  • If your daughter is a fan of Barbie dolls, you might be facing the problem of tangled hair from time to time. The thing is, tangled Barbie hair seems impossible to fix! But, not anymore – to untangle and make Barbie’s hair shiny again, simply mix fabric conditioner with hair conditioner and use it to wash the doll’s hair. Comb the hair while washing it until you remove all the tangles.
  • If you’re having a hard time fitting shoes to your too-energetic-toddler when you visit the mall, trace your toddler’s foot before you even go to the mall and cut these traces out. This way, you can simply use the traced cut-outs to see if a pair fits. Just make sure that you always use a new trace each time you shop for a new pair of shoes for your children to make sure that the size you have is up-to-date – they grow up too fast!
  • If your kid is having a hard time putting their shoe to the proper foot, cut a sticker in half and put each half in the middle of the insole of each shoe. This way, your kid will be able to tell which is which because of the sticker.
  • If your child loves drawing – even on your precious wood furniture, you can easily remove every hint of a permanent marker from your rustic piece of furniture by rubbing non-gel toothpaste over the affected area and leaving it for a few hours. Then, wipe it off with a damp cloth, apply wood polish and voila! Your furniture will be as good as new.

Simple Ways to Bond with your Kids

As parents, most of us probably work hard to make sure that we earn enough to provide all the things our children need. However, while it’s very important to ensure that our kids never go hungry, are well-dressed, and get a quality education, we must not forget one of the most important factors in the growth of our children – our presence.

So, don’t forget that providing all the material things your kids need is not enough, you have to provide time for them, too. No matter how busy you are, try to find time to bond with your children.

Here are some simple ways you can bond with your kids:

Go on a movie date with your child. – Movie dates aren’t just fun with your partner, it can be fun with your kid, too. Just make sure that your child is of the right age and let them choose what movie to see. It’s a great way to show your child that you respect their choices and you will even get to know your child more.

Take your child out to dinner. – Going out for a dinner date with your child will give you an opportunity to talk to them in a different, more relaxed environment.

Paint with them. – Bonding with your child doesn’t always mean going out and spending a lot. It could be as simple as doing crafty activities with them such as painting. Grab your painting easel – or even just a regular sketch pad and paint away!

Play games with your kids. – Exciting games such as water gun fight and scavenger hunt can also strengthen your bond with your kids.

Go backyard camping. – Get your tent and set up at your very own backyard. Prep some easy to prepare snacks for your backyard camping and enjoy having s’mores with your kids.
